Details:

The Royal Palace of Caserta stands majestically on a hill overlooking the estate that once belonged to the Bourbon kings of Naples. Built in grand style and stature, it was one of the largest buildings built in Europe in the 18th century and remains one of the largest palaces on the continent. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and with an area of almost 47,000 square meters it is the largest royal residence in the world. The palace was largely inspired by the Palace of Versailles in neighboring France, while retaining its own individuality and style. Likewise, surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens, fountains and parks, it is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and impressive in its size alone. Some things not to be missed: the Royal Staircase, the atrium and the Palatine Chapel, which meet a particularly scenic central part of the building.
